Douglas A. Clementz, 43, of Cambridge, IL, passed away on November 26, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer. A memorial visitation for Doug will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory- Geneseo Chapel. Memorials can be made to the Douglas A. Doug was born in Geneseo, IL, on February 9, 1980. He is the son of Stanley Clementz and Deborah Smith. Doug attended Geneseo High School. He married Heather Wager on August 20, 2011. She survives along with their three children Garrett, Hadley, and Wyatt. At the time of Doug’s death, he drove over-the- road and locally for B&M Transportation. He worked for over 10 years as a chemical applicator for Atkinson Grain and Fertilizer. He also served 10 years and attained the rank of Lieutenant in the Atkinson Fire Protection District. He loved working on lawn mowers and tractors with his sons and dancing with his daughter. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, riding four-wheelers with all his friends, and participating in the local annual tractor drive. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Doug especially loved spending time with his kids and hanging out in his garage.
Doug leaves behind his wife, Heather, children; Garrett, Hadley and Wyatt; father, Stanley (Karol) Clementz; mother, Deborah Smith; father and mother-in-law, Gary (Brenda) Wager; brothers, Stan (Ashley) Clementz and Kyle Clementz; brother-in-law, Matt (Bre) Wager, stepbrother, Jeff (Cheryl) Akers; stepsisters, Tammy (Tim) Littrel and Jamie Akers; grandmother, Mary Smith along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
