Eileen Rae VanHerzeele

Eileen Rae VanHerzeele, 68, of Atkinson, died at her home on November 12, 2021. A memorial visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory-Atkinson Chapel. Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve Clark officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Henry Co. Humane Society or the family. The family asks that masks please be worn, and social distancing be in place.

Eileen was born on February 14, 1953, in Geneseo the daughter of Eugene and Janet (Gray) VanOpdorp. Eileen graduated from Atkinson High School, Class of 1971. She married John VanHerzeele Jr. on August 12, 1972, and he survives. They celebrated 49 years of marriage in August. Eileen worked for Blackhawk East for 30 years.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband John, sons; Seth and Jake (Cassie); daughter Holly (Eric); grandchild Karma (Clarabelle); her pets; Bella, Payton, Addi, Haley and Gizmo, brother, Rodger and many nieces and nephews.
