Elizabeth A. “Betty” Boblett, 88, of Geneseo, passed away on December 10, 2023, at Hammond Henry Long Term Care Center-Geneseo. Per her wishes private family services will be held at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery-Geneseo. Betty was born on September 12, 1935, in Urbana, IL, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Hudson) Herbert. She married Ishmael “Bud” Boblett on August 7, 1952, in Penfield, IL. Betty grew up on the family farm in Gifford, IL, where she enjoyed helping her dad. She excelled in academics as well as sports. Betty took great pride in being a mom, never missing an event of her children’s. She also had a long and satisfying career outside the home working for several attorneys, Blackhawk Area Special Education District, Continental Restaurant Systems and retiring from Deere and Co. in 1996.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Vic (Chris) Boblett of Rock Island, Lynne Patterozzi of New Albany, OH, Lane Boblett of Phoenix, AZ, Gail Paulson of Geneseo and Gary (Janet) Boblett of Marion, IL; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with another great grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael “Bud” Boblett, parents, John and Elizabeth Herbert, brother and sister-in-law, Jack (Margaret Anne) Herbert.
