Gail E. Imel

Gail Elaine Imel, 79, of Colona, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.  Per decedent’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Flowers and cards may be sent to either of Gail’s sons: Russell Imel, 6915 Country Day Lane, Las Vegas, 89119, or Joel Imel, 3900 N. Gail was born April 7, 1945, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Stecker) Miller, in Milwaukee, WI.  She earned a Bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and was a teacher in French and English at JD Darnall High School.  She was an avid tennis fan and enjoyed watching the Geneseo high school teams compete.  After retiring from teaching, she worked in nursing administration at Genesis Hospital in Davenport and later worked providing IT support for Augustana College.  She was a member of First Congregational Church, Geneseo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two children, Russell Imel of Las Vegas, NV and Joel Imel of Chicago, IL; and sister, Susan H. Huskamp.
