Gail was born February 25, 1949, in Kewanee, Illinois, daughter of Floyd Allen and Dororthy Fern Harden of Geneseo, Illinois. She attended High School, Married Louis I. Wilson of Monmouth, Illinois, and had 3 children. Gail has held her CNA Certificate for over 30 years, allowing her to care for others in various settings while working other jobs. Gail cared deeply for her residents, and she always went the extra mile/miles to ensure the needs of others. Gail could joke around and have your back at the same time. She had multiple friends over the years whom she loved dearly. She was known as “Delta Dawn” by some friends. Gail loved her high heels and miniskirts in those days.
When Gail was younger, she loved to pack up, travel to various states. She enjoyed driving backroads to pick that asparagus and sip a few beers. If only those roads could talk! Her true passion was cooking; she cooked like she was feeding a group of 10+. There was always enough food to feed her children’s friends. All our childhood friends were family to Mama or Mama Gail. She loved boating, camping, cooking, dancing, fishing, gardening of her tomatoes, grilling out, sitting outside watching her hummingbirds at her feeder, and admiring all her flowers. She loved driving at the change of seasons. She never played cards, she “Hated” Bingo”, she loved going to play the slots occasionally and having a NA beer. Most of All, Gail cherished her time with her family, especially the holidays and special occasions. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving; she just loved cooking and having everyone home.
