Gerald Arthur Larson

Gerald Arthur Larson, 74, of Kewanee, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at OSF – St. Luke’s Hospital, Kewanee, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel.  A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the memorial service.  Military honors will be accorded by the Geneseo VFW - Don Cherry Post 5083.  Inurnment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  Memorials may be directed to the Gerald A. Larson Memorial Fund. 

Gerald was born April 16, 1947, the son of Kenneth C. and Hazel (VanKlaveren) Larson, in Moline, IL.  He graduated from Geneseo High School and then attended Black Hawk College.  He proudly served in the United States Navy for four years as an aviation electrician.  He was employed as a line operator at John Deere Harvester. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Heather (Kevin) Arnold, Port Byron, IL and Heidi Sallows, Port Byron, IL; grandchildren, Hannah Arnold, Hayle Arnold, and K.J. Arnold; siblings, Vivian Martins, Geneseo, IL, Chuck Larson, Geneseo, IL, and Keith (Carol) Larson, Colona, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Hazel; brothers, Herman and Lester; brother-in-law, Jim Martins, and nephews, Mark Larson, Craig Martins, and Dan Martins.
