Greta Gail Baugh

Greta Gail Baugh, 91, formerly of Geneseo passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at her home in Avonlea Cottage in Milan.  A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo, followed by a time of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall there.  Inurnment will follow at North Cemetery-Geneseo at a later date. Memorials in her honor will go to Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo, where she was a member or to the American Cancer Society. Condolences can be left at www.vandemorefuneralhome.com.

She was born to Gail and Alice Peart in January 1932 and grew up on a farm south of Annawan.

Greta married Don Moon and together raised their children, Janet (Bob) VanKerrebroeck of Geneseo, Bob (Jill) Moon of Kingman, Arizona and Bill (Denise) Moon of Arizona.

In addition to working several jobs in the area, she owned three businesses including Greta’s Gift Shop, the Montgomery Ward store and the Windmills Golf Course. Greta’s life was full of with lots of coffee and conversation, humor and laughing, friends and family and her love for singing and worship at Grace United Methodist Church, Geneseo.

She is survived by her sister, Audrey Baker of California, as well as grandchildren Ky (Kelly) VanKerrebroeck, Kate (Kevin) Reed, Kelsey Moon, Mariah Moon (Dustin) Roberto, Avery Moon, Jason Moon, Christopher Moon, Raymond Moon, and four great-grandchildren, Kwin, Kellen, Annie and Charlie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Bill, and brother Robert Peart.
