Harry W. Sellers, 83, of Geneseo, passed away on September 27, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Lancaster officiating. He will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery-Geneseo. Harry was born on February 2, 1941, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Leroy and Nora (Spaulding) Sellers. He married the love of his life Linda Dilts on May 12, 1973, and they celebrated 51 years together. Harry worked at John Deere Harvester Works. He retired on November 1, 1994. He began his career with Harvester Works on January 12, 1963, acquiring 31 years of service and retiring as a Manual Arc Welder from the Combine Manufacturing Division. He coached youth baseball and basketball in Geneseo. He also enjoyed bowling, yard work, golfing, and dancing with Linda. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved spending time with his family. Harry never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him. He loved spending Tuesday mornings with his breakfast group at Lisa’s Kitchen in Atkinson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Sellers of Geneseo, children; Jeff (Julie) Sellers of Rock Island, Penny Mason of Davenport, Jamie (Cory) Sellers) of Geneseo, Kevin Sellers of Geneseo, Ryan “Pudge” Sellers of Colona and Diane Jordan of Morton, IL, brother, Roy (Deb) Sellers of Hampton, grandchildren; Justin, Joshua, Ashley, Jeremy, Benjamin, Brandon, Kyle, Jack, and Jade, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Wanda Sellers of Milan and Rhoni (Zach) Perrine of Geneseo, brother-in-law, John (Carla) Edwards of Geneseo and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Nora Sellers, brothers; Rich and Harold Sellers, sister, Helen Antheunis, father and mother-in-law, Bob (Norma) Dilts, and sister-in-law, Tudi Edwards.
