Irene Cecilia Hall, 87, of Atkinson, IL, passed away on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Nick Henthorn will officiate. Burial will follow at Hooppole Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 10 A.M. – 11A.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Foster Hope or Wounded Warriors.
Irene was born on April 10, 1938, the daughter of Edward Roe and Blanche Wonick in Taylor Ridge, IL. She married Melvin LeRoy Hall in 1964. He precedes her in death. Irene was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed fishing and hunting for morrel mushrooms. She loved listening to her favorite musical artists, Elvis Presley and her niece, Missy Vail. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and she enjoyed being with them as often as she could.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lola (Ryan) Rahn of Atkinson, IL; step daughter, Donna Stumpf of WA; sister Dorothy Berg of Milan, IL; 15 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and her special friend of 25 years, Junior Carrington.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Blanche; husband, Melvin; 1 son; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, 2 step daughters, 1 grandson, and 1 great grand daughter.
