James L. Lundquist

James L. Lundquist, 75, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Cleveland Medical Clinic, Cleveland, OH.  Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Edford Township, Geneseo.  Reverend Gary Wright will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Memorials may be directed to James Lundquist Memorial Fund.

James was born on June 24, 1943, the son of Laverne and Cleone (Gustafson) Lundquist, in Moline.  James married Linda K. Wahlheim on April 17, 1976.  He attended Geneseo High School and graduated in 1961.  He was in the Illinois State National Guard.  Jim started his construction career with Arv Erdman, in Geneseo, and was with him for twenty years.  He started Lundquist Construction and worked 15 years, until his retirement.  He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, and shopping.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Linda;  mother, Cleone Loenser; brother, Dennis (Cheryl) Loenser, Geneseo; sisters, Gayla Kroll, Geneseo, and Joline Parrish, Geneseo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Darrell Hutchinson, Atkinson; brother-in-law, Richard Kroll, Geneseo; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Laverne, and his stepfather, Donald Loenser.
