James “Jamie” Kevin Scott, 57, of Woodhull, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at his home. Per the families wishes, no services will be held, and cremation rites have been accorded. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society and Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo.
Jamie was born April 29, 1964, the son of Richard and Mary Lou (Gremonprez) Scott, in Moline, IL. He attended St. Mary Catholic Elementary School and graduated from United Township High School, class of 1982. He went on to attend Northeast Missouri State University. Jamie and his wife Barb owned and operated Windmills Golf Course in Rio, IL. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at Kewanee Dunes Golf Club. Prior to Kewanee Dunes, he was employed by Short Hills Country Club, Indian Bluff Golf Course, and as superintendent at Oakview Country Club in Aledo. Jamie married Barb Meinholdt in a ceremony at Indian Bluff Golf Course, Coall Valley, in 1991. Jamie loved golfing, attending NASCAR races, and smoking meat.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barb, Woodhull; siblings Janice (John) DeBuysere, Moline, IL, Jeff (Debbie) Scott, Montgomery, IL, Jerry (Judy) Scott, Geneseo, IL, Jon (Ruth) Scott, Moline, IL, and Alan (Brandi) Krajewski, Louisville, MS; nine nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Jake, Bear, Autumn, and Hope.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Lou.
