Jason Patrick Swain, 49, of Davenport, Iowa walked into heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 6, 2024, following a heroic battle with cancer. Jason was born in Traverse City, Michigan on July 5, 1975. The family moved to Manistee, Michigan in 1981. Jason attended Manistee Area Public Schools and graduated from Manistee High School in 1993. Jason was awarded a Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership scholarship. He attended Alma College and the University of Alabama.

Following college, Jason entered the United States Navy. Jason proudly served his country in the Navy for ten years. Jason trained for two years in the Navy Nuclear Power School and the Navy Nuclear Prototype School. He joined the fleet aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower as a reactor operator. He received specialized training as an electronics technician nuclear. He served through several deployments to the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf. He earned his Surface Warfare badge and numerous decorations. Jason was promoted to Chief Petty Officer after approximately eight years of service.

When the Eisenhower entered drydock for long term refitting and repair, Jason reported for duty as an instructor at Nuclear Prototype School in Ballston Spa, New York. It was there that he met the love of his life, Christina Natalie Swain. Jason and Christina were married on June 30, 2007.

Jason separated from his service in the Navy and began a career with Exelon/Constellation Energy. Before his illness made it impossible to work, Jason rose to the position of Senior Manager, Operations Support and Services.

He is survived by his wife, Christina, of Davenport, his daughter, Audreuna Rose Swain, of Manistee, Michigan, and his sons Jaedin Parker Swain, and Alexander Jason Swain of Davenport, and Jason’s faithful friend Nugget. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Anne Soulia of Granville, New York, his father, Dennis M. Swain of Manistee, Michigan, his mother and stepfather, Jacque, and Doug Erdman of Bear Lake Michigan. He shared many days and hours with his swarm of aunts, uncles, and cousins and friends.

Jason loved the outdoors, sharing countless hours with family and friends hiking, hunting, fishing, and looking for Petoskey Stones along his beloved Lake Michigan. He loved his family above everything. He devoted hours to coaching Jaedin and Alex in baseball and other sports. He was a faithful husband and a good father. He extolled the virtues of hard work, honesty, patriotism, and faith in the Lord. He was a big man with a big heart, always ready with a helping hand, a smile, and a joke. He had many, many friends.

Fair winds and following seas my faithful son.
