John T. O'Connor

John T. O’Connor, 72, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Hammond Henry Hospital Geneseo, IL. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Geneseo Chapel at 5:00 p.m. Reverend Chris Ritter will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the funeral home. Masks are required, as well as social distancing. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.

John was born on April 13, 1948, the son of Joseph and Marcella (Reiter) O’Connor, in Alliance, NE. John was employed as a welding supervisor for Pipefitters Union Local #85 out of Saginaw, MI since 1977. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He married his loving wife, Kathy Weiser, on July 12, 1994. John was a very hard worker and was employed by the union for over 40 years. He took a lot of pride working outside, perfecting his yardwork and home. John was a proud family man who loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kathy; children, Tim, of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer (Christopher) Pollard, Geneseo, and Jonathan Weiser, Geneseo; brothers, Timothy O’Connor, Custer, SD, Pat (Toni) O’Connor, Roseville, MN, and Kevin (Jan) O’Connor, Alliance, NE; sisters, Maurine Allen, Denver, CO, Teresea (Chuck) Ushio, Alliance NE, Mike (Tracy) Mclean, Butte, MT, Sally (Merlin) Drumheller, Alliance, NE, Colleen (John) Orndorff, Alliance, NE, and Katie (Duane) Dobson, Alliance, NE; grandchildren, Preston O’Connor, Quentin Pollard, and Lance Pollard; step-grandchildren, Thomas and Joseph Pollard; and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents.
