Joyce Arlene Geiger

Joyce Geiger, 97, of Geneseo, IL passed away on January 5, 2026, at Woodridge Assisted Living in Geneseo. A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood cemetery in Geneseo, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 A.M. – 11 A.M prior to the funeral. Services will be livestreamed at www.vandemorefuenralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Joyce was born on March 20, 1928, the daughter of Darrell and Hazel (Gradert) Rakestraw in Annawan, IL. Joyce attended Annawan High School. She married Robert Klemm on November 18, 1944. She later married Robert Geiger on March 7, 1969. Joyce was employed as a clerk at Jack and Jill Grocery. She went on to work at Columbian Feed Co. She enjoyed helping on the farm most of all. Joyce was very involved in her community. She was a former member of the Geneseo Ladies Moose, VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Association. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, dancing, baking and spending special time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, William Klemm of Chatham, IL, Tom Geiger of Rock Island, IL and Kenneth (Paula) Geiger of Port Byron, IL, Linda Kerker of Geneseo, IL and Cynthia (William Davis) Hughes of Mt. Gilead, NC; grandchildren, Scott (Annika) Kerker of Orion, IL, Karen (John) White of Colona, IL, Kellie(William) White, of Geneseo, IL, Heather (Scott) Fieser of Wildwood, MO, Heidi (Daniel Sheehan) Klemm of Chatham, IL, Travis Morgan of Mt Gilead, NC, Chelsey Morgan of Mt Gilead, NC, Alexandra Gooding of Sycamore, IL, and Scottie Sullivan of Colona, IL; 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents Darrell and Hazel; two husbands Robert Klemm and Robert Geiger; brother, Duane Rakestraw; sister-in-law, Shirley Rakestraw; daughter in law, Barb Klemm; and nephews, Danny Rakestraw and Dave Rakestraw.
