Joyce was born on July 25, 1940, the daughter of Earl and Virginia (Heller) Carroll. She married Marvin Bauwens on May 9, 1959, and later Roy Parker on December 27, 2013. Both preceded her in death. Joyce graduated from Geneseo High School Class of 1958. Her greatest joy was being Big Grandma to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the time she spent with her girls. She was fond of Madison’s chocolate chip cookies, Ed’s famous meatloaf and DQ hot fudge sundaes. She loved spending time with friends, playing bingo, camping with Roy throughout the USA in their RV, collecting Santas, collecting autumn leaves, WWE Smackdown and red pickup trucks (especially the little red pickup truck in Wes and Shirley’s barn), which brought back wonderful memories for her. Joyce worked at various retail stores in Geneseo and at Hillcrest Home while raising her children.
Those left to cherish her memory are children; Debbie (Tom) Sherbeyn of Geneseo, Nancy (Ed) Archer of Geneseo, Shirley (Wes) Howe of Durant, IA, stepdaughter, Katie (Shawn) Russell of Pinckneyville, IL; brother, Neil (Diana) Carroll of Colona, grandchildren; Stephanie (Kerry) Mohan, Molly (Brandon) Hull, Hannah Archer, Blair Howe, Madison Howe and Carlie (Colton) Sanchez, great grandchildren; Brianna, Daren, J.P. and Trace Hull and Kai Mohan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Virginia Carroll; husbands, Marvin Bauwens and Roy Parker; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Vince Newton; brother, Ronald Carroll; sister, Melody Favri; and granddaughter, Meghan Howe.
