Joyce K. Will, 87, of Geneseo, passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Allure of Geneseo. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.
A memorial service will be held in California at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Geneseo Humane Society, 14606 Roos Hill Road, Geneseo, IL, 61254 and Geneseo Historical Museum, 205 S. State Street, Geneseo, IL.
Joyce was born on January 8, 1935, the daughter of Wilson H. and Gracia L. (Andrews) Ague, in Geneseo, IL. She graduated from Geneseo High School. On February 13, 1955, Joyce married Robert L. Will, in Geneseo. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2014. She was employed by the Henry County Advertiser for over fifteen years and served as the administrative assistant for the mayor of Geneseo for several years. Joyce enjoyed collecting cookbooks, loved animals, and volunteering at numerous organizations including BPW, DAR, Richmond Hill Players, and the Geneseo Historical Museum.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Frederick Eugene “Butch” (Earlene) Will, Geneseo, and Morgan (Kay) Will, Santa Clara, CA; grandchildren, Allister (Erin) Will, Frederick (Megan Rafferty) Blanchard, Jason (Maricela) Brown, and Dan Brown; great-grandchildren, Addison Will and Sarah Brown; sister, Janet Ague -Kennedy, Mountain View, CA; and special friend, Cindy Strader.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Gracia Ague; husband, Robert; brothers Eugene, James, and Robert; and sisters Marilyn and Judy.
