Kathleen A. (Stees) Terpening

Kathleen A. Terpening, 65, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on May 26, 2023, at her home surrounded by family. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo with Rev. Laura Kamprath officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 11-12 PM prior to the service at the church. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory- Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Kay was born in Geneseo, IL, on April 29, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Georgeann (Wilson) Stees. She graduated from J.D. Darnall High School in 1976 and then went on to Monmouth College where she received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 1980. She married Paul Terpening on June 27, 1987, and he survives. Kay loved reading, crossword puzzles, baking and living on the farm. She loved Paul, her children and her pets deeply. Kay was a member of the Maple City Band and First Lutheran Church in Geneseo.

Those left to cherish her memory include husband, Paul Terpening, children; Noah Terpening of Moline and Naomi Terpening of Davenport, sisters; Linda (Jim) VanVooren of Fishers, IN, Janice Braggs of Moline, Dru (Dean) Clementz of Geneseo, Christine (Terry) Francis of Choctaw, OK and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Georgeann Stees.
