Keith Taber Obituary

Keith A. Taber, 70, of Rock Island, formerly of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Keith Taber Memorial Fund to be distributed amongst charities of the family’s choice.

 

Keith was born August 25, 1951, the son of Gordon and Rhea (VanOpdorp) Taber, in Geneseo, IL.  He married Debra Bollengier on January 12, 1974, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan, IL.  Keith earned a sheet metal apprenticeship at Johnson Sheet Metal and went on to be a Manufacturer’s Representative at Bowman & Associates.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and boating.  He loved spending time with his family, including his seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Rhea Taber; loving wife, Deb, of Rock Island, IL; sons, Brandan (Kari) Taber, of LeClaire, IA, and Andrew (Shelby) Taber, of Colorado; grandchildren, Hannah, Gracie, Gabriella, Annalise, Laila, Trey, and Camden; great-grandchildren, Caine and Chloe; sisters, Lynette (Keith) Causemaker, of Atkinson, IL, Denise Park, of Atkinson, IL, Lisa (Frank) Verstraete, of Atkinson, IL; and brother, Ken (Chris) Taber, of Atkinson, IL.

 

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Gordon.
