Kenneth Schaecher Obituary

Kenneth Schaecher, 81, of Colona, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at his home.  No services are being held at this time.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held later.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting with the arrangements.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

 

Kenneth was born October 26, 1939, the son of Albert and Mary (Schumacher) Schaecher, in Rock Island, IL.  He married Patricia DeBates on April 28, 1962.  She preceded him in death on January 14, 2014.  He was employed by John Deere, retiring in 1995 after 31 years.   He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Colona, and the Masons in Silvis, IL.  He liked watching sports, especially the Cardinals and the Packers, traveling, gardening, and watching hummingbirds.  Kenneth was always known for lending a helping hand when needed.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Theresa (Mike) Coultas, Colona, IL, Carla Schaecher, Colona, IL, Brenda (Joe) Terrell, Colona, IL; grandchildren, Heather (Shannon) Kizer, Collette (Luke) Johnson, Amanda (Omar) Avendano, and Jamie (David) Diaz; great-grandchildren, Kenny Dwyer, Chrisitan Kizer, Giana Johnson, Connor Johnson, Sadie Diaz, Evie Avendano, Colt Diaz, and Enzo Avendano; siblings, Don (Dorothy) Schaecher, NE, Moreen (Gene) Thiessen, Geneseo, Marilyn Samuelson, Taylor Ridge, IL, Jolene Richardson, Blue Grass, IA, and Perry Schaecher, VA.

 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary; wife, Patricia; grandson, Joseph “Jr” Schaecher; sister, Bonnie Kozma; and brothers, Marvin and James Schaecher.
