Kenneth A. Talbot, Jr., 72, of Rock Island, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 8, 2020, at UnityPoint, Trinity West Campus, Rock Island. Due to COVID -19 restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Burial will follow at North Cemetery. A drive through visitation service will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the funeral home. Due to COVID, all guests will be required to stay in their vehicles during the visitation procession. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Diabetes Association or charity of your choice.
Ken was born on November 12, 1947, in Cleveland, OH, to Kenneth A. Talbot, Sr. and Helen F. Batich. He graduated from Geneseo High School in 1965. He attended Black Hawk College and worked at International Harvester, Target Stores, Term City, and Western-Southern Insurance Company, before retiring on July 13, 2012. He married Linda A. Salzer on August 31, 1968. They made their home outside of Geneseo, IL. Linda passed away on November 30, 2011. He later married E. Annette Ullrick on April 13, 2014, in Colona, IL. Ken was a loyal St. Louis Cardinals and Geneseo Green Machine football fan. He enjoyed going to auctions, listening to mainly 50’s and 60’s music, dancing, watching western movies, pitching horseshoes, playing cards, dominoes, and Scrabble, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; son, Kenneth A. Talbot, III, Moline, IL; daughter, Kristyn A. (Glen) Peterson, Peru, IL; stepson, Jason (Megan) Ullrick, Rock Island, IL; stepdaughter, Kristi (Jason) Spilman, Rock Island, IL; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Fisher, Colona, IL, Karen (John) Lefman, Kewanee, IL, Phyllis (Bill) Eggerichs, Indian Trail, NC, and Gail (Ron) Andrews, Kewanee, IL; brothers, Joe (Pam) Talbot, Concord, NC, Mark Talbot, Colona, IL, and Pete (Michelle) Talbot, Gurnee, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Linda, sisters, Elaine Barreto and Nancy Kratchum, and brother, Gary Talbot.
