Kevin R. Jones

Kevin Ray Jones, 61, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center – Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Reverend Dr. Chris Ritter will officiate.  The burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Kevin Jones Memorial Fund and will be distributed amongst Kevin’s favorite charities.

Kevin was born December 11, 1962, the son of Harold and Lucille (Taets) Jones, in Geneseo, IL.  He graduated from JD Darnall, class of 1982.  He married Carol Reddick at a service held in Rock Island, IL.  Tyson Foods employed Kevin in the packaging department for over 35 years.  His hobbies included woodworking, spending time with friends in and about Geneseo, and lounging comfortably in his hot tub.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Emma Robinson of Colona, Zachary (Stacey) Reddick of Geneseo, and Kyle Jones of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Oliver and Elliot Reddick; sisters, Cindy (Larry) Hopkey of Geneseo, Deborah Jones of Geneseo, and Kim (Jim) Budde of Leander, TX; ex-wife, Carol Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lucille Jones.
