Kimbark Kvelland, 74, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded and Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on June 20, 2024, at The First Congregational Church, Geneseo, IL. Kim was born on November 4, 1949, in Cincinnati, OH, the daughter of Clyde and Jacqueline (Kimbark) Perkins. She spent her early years in Flint, MI and Wheaton, IL, graduating from Wheaton Central High School in 1967. Kim attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She married Even Charles Kvelland on August 25, 1973. In 1977, upon completion of their schooling, Even and Kim moved to Geneseo with their two young children. Kim was employed as a 5th grade teacher at Millikin Elementary School, Geneseo, IL for 23 years, retiring in 2009. Kim enjoyed reading, tennis, gardening and spending time with her loving family and friends.
Kim, a loving wife, mother, and mimi, she is survived by her husband of 50 years, Even; daughter, Kelly (Ky) VanKerrebroeck, grandsons Kwin and Kellen; son, Kris (Amey) Kvelland; grandson Connor and granddaughter, Grace; loving brother Michael (Peggy) Perkins and loving sister-in-laws, Gale Pavlak, Karen (Richard) Parks, and Linda (Doug) Stahl.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Jacqueline Perkins.
