Leslie Eugene (Sr.) Gillespie

Leslie E. Gillespie Sr., 70, of Kewanee, IL, passed away on June 8, 2023, peacefully at his home. Per his wishes he will be cremated, and no services will be held. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Atkinson Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Les was born on July 17, 1952, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Ralph and Margaret (Zablackis) Gillespie. He married Vivian Davis in 1972 and she preceded him in death in 2021. Les graduated from Kewanee High School and worked in construction all his life. He was a wonderful husband, father, and “PaPa”.

Those left to cherish his memory are son, Leslie Gillespie Jr. of Kewanee, IL, daughter-in-law, Nikki Gillespie of Kewanee, IL, grandchildren; Jaxon, Ruby, Harper, and Ella Gillespie and one great granddaughter, Vivie Gillespie.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Vivian.
