Liam was born July 9, 2019, the son of Jace Siebe and Rachel Croegaert, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA. He weighed 3 pounds and was 15 ¾” long at time of birth. Liam was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus and from the moment the family saw his face, they knew he would move mountains. Well, he may not have moved mountains, but he cleared everything in his path – not allowing anything to hold him back. From toys to people, he always had a mission to prove he could conquer the world. The family adjusted to his ways, while shedding tears for every milestone, every surgery, every appointment, every smile or “mirk” he gave. He knew our voices, along with who and what he wanted at all times. This “hydro warrior” was a fighter who gave it his all until his last breath. We never doubted his ability to show us a new skill, overcome obstacles, and smile along the way.
There was no I in Liam’s team! From Annawan -Alba Ambulance, Hammond Henry Hospital, University of Iowa, Trinity Hospital, Dr. Drew, UnityPoint staff, home nurses, home therapy staff, Early Intervention, special equipment companies, Northside Pharmacy, family, and friends – there are no words or measurement for the depth of our gratitude for your support, help, and prayers. Please forgive us if we forgot to mention anyone, just know your thoughts, prayers, and assistance did not go unnoticed!
