Lois "Joan" Winegardner

Lois “Joan” Winegardner, 88, of Geneseo, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Hammond Henry Hospital – Long Term Care Center, Geneseo.  A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Memorials may be directed to the Lois J. Winegardner Memorial Fund.

Joan was born November 28, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Naomi (Kerr) Lovell, in Adair, IL.  She graduated from Bushnell High School.  August 2, 1958, Joan married William “Bill” Winegardner at a service in Bushnell, IL.  He preceded her in death on October 6, 2019.  After her marriage to Bill, Joan worked at Buddy L , she later worked at Rink's Market, Sisters Two and All in Stitches. She enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, bowling,  Loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and hated "those Cubs" and loved spending time with her children - especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cathy (Scott) May of Geneseo, Steven (Reba) Winegardner of Geneseo, Greg (Patty) Winegardner of Duncan, OK, and stepson Tim (Tammie) Winegardner of Troy MO; grandchildren, Cory Lee Winegardner, Kara Marie Stailey, Derek, Jeremy, and Morgan May, and step-grandchildren, Erica and Taylor Winegardner; great-grandchildren, Kiley Ann and Cory Lee Winegardner, Jr, and Lilly Rose and Joseph Stailey; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Naomi Lovell; husband, Bill Winegardner; eight brothers; and five sisters.
