Louise Wilson Obituary

Louise M. Wilson, 91, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. A private graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Rock Island Arsenal. Deacon Harley Chaffee will officiate. Memorials may be directed to the Louise Wilson Memorial Fund. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Geneseo is assisting the family with these arrangements.

 

Louise was born on September 10, 1926, the daughter of Harry and Romaine (Albrecht) Schatteman, in East Moline, Illinois. She graduated from United Township High School with the class of 1944. She was united in marriage to Donald H. Wilson on April 26, 1947, in Moline. Donald preceded her in death in 1991. Louise worked with the Care Management Corporation as a nursing home administrator for several facilities in Illinois and Iowa for 25 years before her retirement. After retirement, she worked for Sears in the tool department for 19 years. She was known as the “tool lady” to many loyal customers and friends. Louise was also a dedicated volunteer with the Hammond Henry Auxiliary.  

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Christine (Glen) Vincent, of Geneseo, grandson, Scott (Kim) Schnaufer, of Geneseo, two great-grandchildren, Julia Schnaufer and Nick Baraks, and her sister, Betty Freeman, of East Moline.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Romaine, and her husband, Donald.
