Luanne “Lulu/Aunt JuJu” O’Donnell, 66, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded and a private service will be held for the family at a later date. Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Luanne O’Donnell Memorial Fund.
Luanne was born September 22, 1955, the daughter of Loren “Bud” and Mary (Henry) Neuleib, in Geneseo. She graduated from JD Darnell High School, Geneseo. She married James O’Donnell August 24, 1990, in Geneseo. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was employed as a nurse’s aide and housekeeper at various nursing homes in Illinois and Florida. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and the VFW – Don Cherry Post 5083 Auxiliary. Luanne was a die-hard Cub’s fan, loved traveling – especially anywhere there was a beach, and enjoyed cooking. Aunt JuJu especially loved spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her siblings, Lyle (Pat) Neuleib, Orlando, FL, Lenore VanDeVoord, Geneseo, IL, Linda (Mike) Hull, Geneseo, IL, Lola Helke, Geneseo, IL; sisters-in-law, Julie Neuleib, Findlay, OH, and Judy Neuleib, Rock Island, IL; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Loren and Mary; husband, James; brothers, Loren “Butch” and Larry; brother-in-law, Dave VanDeVoord; and three fur babies, Holly, Scrapper, and Moses.
