Madolyn Ruth DeDecker

Madolyn Ruth DeDecker ,96, of Kewanee, IL passed away on April 23, 2025 at her home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel. Pastor Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Annawan, IL. Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. – 12 P.M. on Friday May 2, 2025 prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Annawan Boosters Club.

Madolyn Johnson was born on December 20, 1928, in Sterling, IL, the daughter of Gust and Darlene (Wetzell) Johnson. She attended Tampico Grade School, then went on to graduate from Rock Falls in 1946. Madolyn went on to beauty school in Sterling, graduating in 1947. She met and married Walter DeDecker. He precedes her in death. Madolyn owned and operated Twin’s Beauty shop with her twin sister Mildred from 1948 to 1952. She loved playing cards and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. Madolyn loved meeting new people and made a lasting impact on those in which her path crossed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her niece, Sharon (Larry) Johnson; grandson, Jeff (Ashley) Tourville, Tyler Tourville, Brad DeDecker, and Carmen DeDecker; great grandchildren, Landon, Levi, and Lexi Tourville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gust and Darlene; husband, Walter DeDecker; sister, Mildred Holy; son, Ted DeDecker; daughter, Connie Tourville, son in law Rick Tourville; brothers, Arthur Johnson and Kenneth Johnson.
