Marie Elizabeth Frew

Marie Elizabeth Frew, 72, of Geneseo, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Reverend Randall Mullin will officiate.  A private inurnment will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL.  A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the funeral home, with a Moose service to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Marie was born August 18, 1953, in Kewanee, IL, and was adopted by Robert and Ruth Stout of Geneseo, along with her younger sister Elizabeth.  Marie graduated from JD Darnall High School, class of 1972, and married Arthur Mueller the same year.  From that union, her three children were born.  She later married George Frew in 2012, and he preceded her in death.  Marie worked several different jobs over the years, but she most enjoyed her time as a driver for Pink’s Bus Service.  She truly enjoyed all the children on her routes.  She was a member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge as well as the VFW.

Surviving are her three children and spouses, Tina and Greg Buyck, Kristy and Jay Wakenight, both of Geneseo, and Mike and Candi Mueller of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth “Sue” Stout; brother and spouse, James and Patty Stout of Geneseo; and an especially close friend, Sandy Bultinck of Geneseo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Stout; her husband, George Frew; and one great-grandchild.
