Marilyn A. Galle

Marilyn Galle, 89, of Geneseo, IL passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Hammond Henry Long Term Care in Geneseo, IL. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Malachy Catholic Church at 12 P.M. Father Chris Hakke will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo, IL. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Vandemore Funeral Home - Geneseo Chapel from 5 P.M. – 7 P.M. a recitation of the rosary will begin at 4:30 P.M. prior to the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cambridge Agricultural Education Complex.

Marilyn was born on August 28, 1936, the daughter of Alphonse and Elsie (Joos) Minnaert in Atkinson, IL. She graduated from Atkinson High School in 1954. She met and Married Ed Galle on October 15, 1955 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atkinson, IL. He precedes her. Marilyn spent 20 years working for John Deere Insurance and Sentury Insurance. She also spent time farming in rural Cambridge, IL. She was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church, the Henry County Pork Producers (Porkettes), and Altar and Rosary Society (Circle 14). Marilyn was a Bell Ringer award winner, which she took great pride in. In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Jeff (Pat) Galle of Pittsfield, IL, Dan (Emily) Galle of Cambridge, IL; daughter, Peggy (Jerry) Hickenbottom of Geneseo, IL; sister-in-law, Joyce Minnaert; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphonse and Elsie; husband, Ed Galle; brothers, Elmer, Vern and Stanley Minnaert.
