Marilyn J. Martin

Marilyn Jeanne Martin, 83, of Geneseo, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 31, 2023, at Allure of Geneseo. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Geneseo Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Dustin Largent officiating. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m., prior to the service at the church. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory-Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Marilyn Martin Memorial Fund.

She was born on August 29, 1939, in Humphrey, MO, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Gramling) Rusk. She graduated from Geneseo High School.  Marilyn married Larry Martin on September 5, 1959, in Geneseo and he preceded her in death in 1998. She was a wonderful wife, sweet mom, and a fun grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, walking, swimming, playing cards, and playing bingo. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn prayed for everyone she knew.

Those left to cherish her memory are children; Tammi Hagberg of Springdale AR, Pamela (Darrell) Reiling of Atkinson, Lori (Mark) Holevoet of Osco, Sherry Martin of Annawan, and Michelle (Craig) Drinkall of Hooppole; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brothers; Bill Rusk of Moline, Jim Rusk of Geneseo, and Dick (Dee) Rusk of Geneseo; and sister Judy Borkgren of Geneseo.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Martin; son, Keith Martin; and angel grandchild, Jamie Holevoet.
