Marita A. Koller

Marita A. Koller, 68, of Kewanee, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at her home, with her loving sister by her side.  A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, IL.  Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate.  Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Kewanee, IL.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Atkinson Chapel will be assisting the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Kidney Foundation, 11921 Rockville Pike,  Rockville, MD 20852  (https://secure.kidneyfund.org/).

Marita was born June 6, 1955, the daughter of Frank and Jean (Johnson) Koller, in Chicago, IL.  She graduated from Maine West High School, Des Plaines, IL, and then went on to get a bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University.  She was employed as an office manager in Des Plaines, IL, worked as an instructor for adult evening business skills courses, and worked for Congressman Jim Leach for a few years.  Marita was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kewanee, enjoyed crafting, and rescuing English Springer Spaniels and fostering them out.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Barbara Koller of Kewanee; and several cousins from Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Marita was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Jean Koller.
