Mark A. Larson

Mark A. Larson, 50, of Geneseo, IL passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.  Funeral services celebrating Mark’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 20,13 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo.  Burial will follow in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona, IL.  Visitation for Mark will be 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9th at the funeral home.  Memorials may be left to the Mark Larson Memorial Fund. The family requests casual attire for those attending.

Mark was born November 25, 1962, in Moline, IL, the son of Lester and Lillian (Bekerian) Larson.  He was a 1981 graduate of J.D. Darnall High School in Geneseo and was united in marriage to Phyllis Gay Peasley on December 4, 1989, in Las Vegas, NV.  He was the co-founder and co-owner with his brother, and President of Rock River Arms, Inc. of Colona, IL.   Mark was a member of the NRA, OGCA, ISRA, and Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association.  He enjoyed mushrooming, fishing for crappies, gardening, his cars, and cooking and feeding his family and friends.  He loved his dogs, Daisy, Dozer, and Rowdy, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include  his wife, Gay; his parents, Lester and Lillian Larson of Cleveland, IL; brothers, Michael Larson of Carbon Cliff and Lester C. “Chuck” (Melissa) Larson Jr. of Geneseo; sisters, Lisa (Gary) Sides of Cleveland, IL and Linda (Jim) White of Cleveland, IL; 12 nieces and nephews, Chad, Jennie, Matt, Jeremy, Sara, Katie, Kenneth, Kassandra, Kyle, Jake, Trenton, and Logan; and four great-nieces and nephews, Kaya, Gage, Paige, and Bradlee.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, two uncles, two cousins, and his loyal companion, Saddie.
