Marlee A. Cox, 68, of Colona, IL passed away on September 6, 2022, peacefully at her home. Private family graveside services will be held at Annawan Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded by Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory-Geneseo Chapel. Memorials can be made in her name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Marlee was born on October 18, 1953, in Moline, IL the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Waggoner) Johnson. She graduated from UT High School in 1971. She married Richard Cox on June 9, 1979, and he still survives. Marlee loved baking and decorating cakes, cross-stitching, and stamp collecting. Her kids, grandkids and great grandkids were her whole world.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Cox, mother, Margaret Johnson, children, Bruce (Kelly) Cox of Moline, Nichole (Steve Light) of Newton, IA, sister, Debbie (Alan) Ballard of Moline, grandchildren; Kayli (Chase) VanBrogen, Cole Cox, Kyla Cox, Emily Light and Seth Light, great grandchildren; Ariana Weldon, Rhyatt Van Brogen, Jensen VanBrogen and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Johnson.
