Marty was born at Saint Francis Hospital in Kewanee, IL on October 4, 1952, to Edward and Rose Ann (Jones) Ryan. Marty began his life journey as the second child of six. He graduated from Kewanee High School class of 1970 and continued his education with studies and multiple degrees from Black Hawk East College, Eastern University, Tampa College and Hamilton Technical College. Marty shared that his most loved job throughout his working history was his last, working for Henry County Transportation.

Marty was a kind, generous and feisty man. He loved his family with his entire being. You would often find him with one or all of his brothers, or his adored nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews tagging along by his side. You could always count on Marty for anything. His huge heart is only surpassed by the love his family carries for him. His passing will truly be felt by all.

Marty enjoyed to "talk" (this is where the feisty comes in) politics, setting up "office' at Burger King or The Red Apple, poetry, sports (especially the Cardinals and Buccaneers), watching movies, his favorite was The Exorcist, roller skating with his great nephew all the way to age 67 and he was an absolute genealogy enthusiast and whiz! However, Marty's deepest love was family, and he came from quite a big one. Marty treated his nieces and nephews and greats like they were his very own children. He was everything you could wish for, as a son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his special friend Nancy Johnston. His three brothers, Frank (Carol) Ryan, Kevin (Brenda) Ryan and Dan (Jill) Ryan. Nieces and Nephews, Heather (Fiancé Jeston Roberts) Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Sean (Leslie) Ryan, Emily (Adam) Bickers, Caitlin (Colby) Hathaway, Rachel (Alex) Kane, and Brittney Ryan. Great nieces and nephews Lexi (fiancé Kolten Church) Ryan, Braxton Roberts, Lennon Bickers, Molly Ryan, Colin Hathaway, Fiona Ryan, Charlotte Hathaway, Parker Kane.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Edward Ryan and Rose Ann Ryan, stepmother Golda Ryan, sister Bridget Ryan, brother Larry Ryan, sister-in-law Deenie Ryan, and niece Meghann Marie.

Marty was a treasure to have in our lives and his earthy presence will be missed by many.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
