Marvin Jagers Obituary

Marvin “Henry” Jagers, 76, of Annawan, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo. Reverend Stephen Mueller will officiate. Burial will follow at Annawan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 26, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Atkinson Chapel. Additional visitation will also be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday. The family encourages that Chicago Cub attire be worn to the visitation! Memorials may be directed to the Annawan Township Cemetery, Concordia Lutheran Church, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

 

Henry was born on March 23, 1942, the son of Gordon and Alma (Dumolyn) Jagers, in Geneseo, IL. He attended Annawan High School. Henry married Linda L. Croegaert on October 26, 1968, in Kewanee, IL. He worked for Case I.H. as a repairman for 30 years. Henry was a member of Moose Lodge #1487, Kewanee Elks Club, and is a current member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo and Peace Valley Lutheran Church in Watchula, FL. Henry enjoyed watching old western movies, camping, bird watching, and coin collecting. He was a diehard Chicago Cubs fan for 50 years! Henry loved his dog, Snoopy, and his yellow Mustang convertible.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Linda; sons, Kurt (Lisa) Jagers, of Geneseo, and Kyle (Jeana) Jagers, of Atkinson; daughter, Kim (Scott) White, of Davenport; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Henry is also survived by his brothers, Leon Jagers, of “Little Tin House on Wheels”, and Robert Jagers, of Annawan, and his sister, Mary Ann Ullrick, of Princeton, IL.

 

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Alma, a nephew, Stark County Deputy, Adam Streicher, and a brother-in-law, James Ullrick.
