Mary Hughes Bostwick, 77, of Cambridge, IL passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Allure of Geneseo. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Reverend Lisa Unger will officiate. A burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service, from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hammond Henry Hospital Auxiliary, American Cancer Society, or the Henry County Humane Society – Kewanee Shelter, 197 S Fisher Ave, Kewanee, IL 61443.
Mary Hughes Bostwick was born on April 30, 1947, in Camden, NJ, the daughter of Richard and Anna (Hilton) Coulter. She graduated from Alexis High School in 1965. She married her husband Steven Paul Bostwick on December 9, 1967, in Silvis, IL. He survives. She worked at the Moline Orthopedic Surgeons in 1976. Mary was a homemaker for many years before returning to Blackhawk College to obtain her associate’s degree in computer science. She then went on to work at Cambridge Veterinary Service and a law firm in Cambridge before retiring. Mary was a very active member of the Hammond Henry Hospital Auxiliary. She loved to read and go on walks as well as vacationing with her sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Steven; daughter Andrea (Jim) Campbell of Springfield, IL; sister, Louise (Matt) Fox of Big Canoe, GA; sister-in-law, JoAnn Bostwick of Denton, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Anna, and brothers, Richard Coulter JR. and James Coulter.
