Mary Jane Konitzer

Mary Jane Konitzer, 92, of Geneseo, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo.  Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory - Geneseo Chapel.  Inurnment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  A memorial visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the memorial service.  

Mary was born on July 29, 1929, the daughter of Herschel and Helen (Kuster) Snyder, in Kewanee, IL.  She married Otto Joseph “Joe” Konitzer on February 16, 1974.  Mary was employed by the Henry County Farm Bureau and Lohman Brothers Insurance Company.  She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, going to the casino, reading, was an excellent cook, and loved red roses.  She was a lifetime member of the Geneseo Moose Lodge and Grace United Methodist Church.  Mary especially loved spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Joe; children, Jan (Craig) Palmer, Cambridge, IL, and Tammy (Russell) Quillin, Cleveland, IL; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; and sister, Beverly Beauprez, Kewanee, IL.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Helen; and sons, Steven Yarger and Michael Konitzer.
