Mary Ann Schuter

Mary Ann Schuter, 96, of Geneseo, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Allure of Geneseo. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Geneseo. Father Daniel Gifford will officiate. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Geneseo. Visitaton will be held from 9:30 A.M – 10:30 A.M. prior to the funeral mass at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St Malachys Catholic Church and School.

Mary Ann Buyck was born on April 7, 1929, the daughter of Julius and Romanie (Matthys) Buyck in Geneseo, IL. Mary worked for the Geneseo School District as the secretary of accounting for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, a variety of card games, and dancing. Mary volunteered at the Geneseo Senior Center in her free time.

Those left to cherish her memory include David (Deborah) Dobbels, Donald (Kathy) Dobbels, Leona Dobbels, and Carol Dobbels.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Romanie; one brother, 2 sisters; 5 nephews, 1 niece, sister-in-law, and special friend, Alvin J. Swanson.
