Mary Lou "Susie" Stojek

Mary Lou “Susie” Stojek, 78, of Geneseo, passed away on January 19, 2026, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo, IL. Father Daniel Gifford will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo, IL. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Vandemore Funeral Home - Geneseo Chapel. A Recitation of the Rosary will take place at the funeral home, prior to the visitation, beginning promptly at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Geneseo Food Pantry.

Susie was born on April 30, 1947, the daughter of Phil and Octavie (Roman) Subo in Geneseo, IL. Mary worked for GWK Enterprises for 20 years before becoming a teller at Central Bank in Geneseo. On March 20, 1998, she married Gary Stojek in Geneseo, IL. Susie was a member of St Malachy Catholic Church and a devout catholic. She was also a member of the Geneseo Lions Club and the Geneseo Moose Lodge #990. Susie loved to travel. She would document all her trips with photographs and create extensive albums with the pictures from each adventure.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Gary of Geneseo, IL, originally of Chicago, IL; daughter, Jonal (Rick) McKinley DeKalb, IL; brother, Don Subo of Albany, IL; and grandson, Nathan McKinley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Octavie Subo; child, Corinda Bristol; brother, Robert Subo; and infant brother, Marvin Subo.
