Mateo Poole Obituary

Just seventy-two hours after coming into the world, Mateo Patrick Poole, son of Karoline Welch and Daequan Poole, passed away peacefully in his parents’ arms at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, IA, on May 23, 2021. During that fleeting time, he touched many lives and will be loved by all. Vandemore Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born Thursday, May 20, 2021, and weighing 1 lbs., 15.7 oz., Mateo showed true strength during his brief stay on earth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Karoline Welch and Daequan Poole, Davenport, IA; maternal grandparents, Pat Welch, LeClaire, IA, and Cassandra Munoz (Fernando), Wadsworth, OH; and paternal grandparents, Rachel and Kris Poole, Davenport, IA.

Mateo joins his uncles, Bradley Welch and Cade LeMaster, in eternal rest.
