Misha Michelle Jeanine Gernant

Misha Michelle Jeanine Gernant, 53, of Cambridge, IL passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A private memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 5-7 pm at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Michelle Gernant Memorial Fund, C/O Blackhawk State Bank, 225 US Highway 6, Geneseo, IL, 61254, which will be distributed amongst Misha's favorite local charities.

Misha Jeanine Gernant was born on August 3, 1971, the daughter of Dwight and Claudia (Holcomb) Moody, in Geneseo, IL. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1989. She married her husband Bill Gernant in Geneseo, IL on August 11, 2018. Misha was employed as a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Misha also enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Bill of Cambridge, IL; mother, Claudia of Cambridge, IL; son, Josh (Liz) Moody of East Moline, IL; daughters, Samantha (Austin) DeKezel of Cambridge, IL and Hannah Moody of Cambridge, IL; brothers, Mike (Annalee) Moody of Loxahatchee, FL and Matt (Theresa) Moody of Cambridge, IL; and grandchildren, MaKenzie, Brynleigh, Bennett, Lylah, Darren and Emelia.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dwight and brother, Eric Moody.
