Obituary

Norman Lee McFail, 88, of Galva, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at OSF St. Luke Medical Center, Kewanee, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded and per Norman’s wishes, no services will be held.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society – Geneseo, 14606 Roos Hill Road, Geneseo, IL, 61254.

 

Norman was born July 7, 1934, the son of Harlan and Mary Ann (Pemberton) McFail, in Geneseo.  He graduated from Geneseo High School.  Norman was employed at International Harvester for over 30 years, after retiring he drove semi-trucks for several different trucking companies.  He enjoyed spending his free time fishing and hunting, was a great handyman and even performed taxidermy for a few years.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Becky Ramsdale of Geneseo, Pam (Tim) Morgan – Krein of Shenandoah, IA, and Rick (Joyce) McFail of Altona, IL; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry (Bonnie) McFail of Muskegan, MI.

 

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Mary Ann McFail; sister, Dorothy McAllister; brother, Harlan McFail; and son-in-law, Trevor Ramsdale.
