Pamelia "Pam" Johnson Obituary

Pamelia “Pam” Johnson, 92, of Geneseo, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Hammond Henry Hospital, Geneseo.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Vandemore Funeral Home – Geneseo Chapel.  A memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026.  Inurnment will take place at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to Grace United Methodist Church, 318 N. Center Street, Geneseo, IL 61254, and the Geneseo-Atkinson Food Pantry, PO Box 324, Geneseo, IL, 61254.

Pamelia was born on June 21, 1933, in Avon, Illinois, the daughter of Arbon Kenneth and Corinne Eunice (Yeoman) Fullerton. She graduated from Avon High School with the 1951 class, and went on to attend Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. On June 28, 1959, she married James “Jim” Johnson in Avon. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2022. 

Pamelia was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church in Geneseo and was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was also a proud member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority at Millikin University. 

She worked as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines and later as an insurance agent with Hanford Insurance in Geneseo. In retirement, she especially enjoyed traveling.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, James “Todd” (Michele) Johnson of Centreville, VA, and Jama (Richard) Johnson Boes of Mercer, WI; five grandchildren, Alec (Casady) Boes, Kelly (Rich) Redoutey, Sarah (Joe) Kitchell, James Johnson, and Rosie Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Owen Redoutey, Lucas Redoutey, and Isabella Kitchell; and sister, Priscilla Fullerton of Venice, FL.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Arbon and Corinne Fullerton; her loving husband, James “Jim” Johnson; and sister, Pauline Foran.
