Patricia J. "Patty" Shaw

Patricia J. “Patty” Shaw, 66, of Geneseo, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Allure of Geneseo.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at St. Malachy Catholic Church.  Father Michael Pakula will officiate.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at the church.  Cremation rites have been accorded and private inurnment will be at a later date.  Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be directed to the Patty Shaw Memorial Fund.

Patty was born on February 19, 1953, the daughter of Eldon and Lucille (Hartman) Ellis, in Geneseo, IL.  She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1971. She attended Black Hawk College and received her nursing degree. Patty was an RN for many years working at various places, most recently at Genesis Illini Campus and Good Samaritan Village/Allure of Geneseo. She married Gary L. Shaw Jr. on June 28, 2008, in Geneseo.   Patty enjoyed playing cards with her sisters and relaxing by the pool or at the beach. Patty loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Gary; her daughters - Carrie (Hank) Miller of Phoenix, AZ, and Jessica Pullman of Geneseo; her sons - Christopher (Julie Brown) Harper of Huntsville, AL., Craig Harper of Moline, and Gary Shaw, III, of Rock Island; her loving grandchildren - Jamie, MacKenzie, Miranda, Hannah, Garrett, Hayden, Parker, Payton, Carter, Maddux, Grayson, Camille and Collette; sisters - Peggy (Don) West of Geneseo, Debbie Montriel of Silvis, Nancy Chekonik of South Carolina, Bonnie (Ron) Jones of East Moline, and Linda (Steve) Foley of Prophetstown; brothers - Dan (Kelly) Ellis of Texas, Richard (Belinda) Ellis of Texas, Gary (Carol) Ellis of Geneseo; and her precious dog Holly.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Lucille, her brothers, Steve and Mike Ellis, and a sister, Cathy Clark.
