Patty S. Sims
Patty S. Sims, 77, of Annawan, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at her home in Annawan. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory, Atkinson Chapel. Reverend Terry Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow at Dayton Corners Cemetery in Colona. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Annawan Alba Rescue Squad.
Patty was born on April 19, 1941, the daughter of Carroll and Irene (Wagner) Nichols, in Trenton, MO. She was united in marriage to James E. Sims on May 25, 1960, in Trenton, MO. James preceded her in death in 1999. Patty was employed at John Deere Harvester Works for 26 years, and retired from the company. Patty had been attending the Mineral United Methodist Church, and was a member of Annawan/Alba Women’s Club. She was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Patty was a Kansas City Royals fan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Glynda (Greg) Woolam, of Atkinson, sons, Eddie (Jenifer Kelty) Sims, of Moline, Jim “J.R.” Sims, of Mineral, and John (Dee) Sims, of Wake Forest, NC, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Patty is also survived by her brother, Jack (Dorothy) Nichols, of Trenton, MO.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Carroll and Irene, husband, James, grandson, Jared Sims, two sisters, Phyllis and Joann, and son-in-law, Danny Pratt.
