Paul A. Gradert

Paul Alvin Gradert, 69, of Atkinson, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Emergency Department, Kewanee, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Deacon Mike Sigwalt will officiate.  Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Atkinson, IL.  Visitation services will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Paul A. Gradert Memorial Fund to be distributed amongst local charities dear to Paul.

Paul was born June 23, 1954, the son of Alvin L. and Phyllis (Sears) Gradert, in Geneseo, IL.  He graduated from JD Darnall High School, class of 1972.  Paul was a part-time truck driver and worked full-time on the family farm.  Paul loved spending time with his nephew, Zac, took pride in his trucks, and enjoyed collecting toy tractors.  He was happiest in his recliner watching classic TV shows.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Phyllis Gradert of Atkinson; sister, Tami Gradert of Geneseo; and nephew, Zac (Erin) Gradert of Lake St. Louis, MO.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Gradert.
