Paul "Dave" Powers

Paul “Dave” Powers, 71, of Geneseo, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Unitypoint Health – Trinity Hospital, Rock Island, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Vandemore Funeral Homes & Cremtory – Geneseo Chapel.  Reverend Keith Bradley will officiate.  Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Geneseo.  A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2021, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the Paul Powers Memorial Fund. 

Paul was born on July 11, 1949, the son of Wally and Bertha (Heller), in Geneseo, IL.  He graduated from Geneseo High School. He was employed by Illini Beef Packers, Inc. until his retirement.  He married Ruth Hawkins in a service held on April 23, 1993.  She preceded him in death on December 11, 2004.  Paul was an avid Geneseo football fan.  He loved watching the Loraine softball team, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Stacy (Joe) Dykema, of Kewanee; son, Noel (Emily) Powers, Cambridge; grandchildren, Ashley Dykema, Liam Powers, and Skylynn Powers; and great grandchildren, Gema and Addysin Kelly.
