Pauline Swanson

Pauline R. Swanson, 90, of Geneseo, IL passed away on October 20, 2025, at Hammond Henry Hospital. A requiem mass will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Vandemore Funeral Home and Crematory – Geneseo Chapel. Father Anthony will officiate. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rutabaga Art of Geneseo.

Pauline was born on June 22, 1935 the daughter of Alfred and Irene (VerCruysse) Reschke in Geneseo. She graduated from Geneseo High School in 1953. Pauline married James Swanson on April 14, 1956. They were married for 69 years. He precedes her in death. Pauline was employed at Moore Business Forms in Bettendorf as a Secretary and District Manager for many years before retiring in 1992. She had a passion for art and spent many days at Rutabaga Art in Geneseo creating art pieces. In her free time, Pauline enjoyed bicycling and attending mass.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Julie Swanson Shaw (Bill Kincaid), Martin J. Swanson (Janet Morissette Swanson), James J. Swanson, Susan Swanson, M.Tad Swanson, Kirsten (Michael) Swanson Velasco; brother Alfred Reschke Jr.; sister, Karen Dickey, Marie (Rick) Swietek; and she was a beloved grandma and great grandma to many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Irene; husband, James; and sons, Peter and David Swanson; sister, Jean Dickey; grand daughter, Decnie Reschke; great grandchildren Olivia and Asher DeBouver.
