Phyllis Marie Wiese

Phyllis Marie Wiese, 90, of Geneseo, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at River Crossing of Moline, Moline, IL.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Vandemore Funeral Home & Crematory – Geneseo Chapel.  Pastor Wyatt Billingsley will officiate.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo.  The service will be live-streamed at www.vandemorefuneralhome.com/live-stream.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Tunnel 2 Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY, 10306, and Grace United Methodist Church, 318 N. Center Street, Geneseo, IL, 61254.

Phyllis was born November 17, 1932, the daughter of John and Lottie (Broadbent) Werkheiser, in Geneseo, IL.  She graduated from Geneseo High School, class of 1950.  Phyllis married Keith Elwood Wiese at a service held in Geneseo in 1951.  He preceded her in death.  She was employed as an administration assistant at the Rock Island Arsenal and Grace United Methodist Church.  Phyllis remained active at Grace United Methodist Church and all of their groups.  She enjoyed quilting, cross-stitching, playing cards, and reading.  She especially loved spending time with her friends and family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Pam (Randy) Ullmark of Cambridge, and Steve (Sally) Wiese of Milan; three grandchildren, Josh (Staci) Ullmark, Jenni (Mike) Bowser, and Cody Dennis; great-grandchildren, Mason and Brady Ullmark; and close cousin Marsha Himmelman of Geneseo.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lottie Werkheiser; husband, Keith Wiese; and sister, Merle Martin.
